why would you
wanna hate it,
i wonder.
we went on the battlefield tour yesterday.
visited the Kranji War Memorial;
'They died for all free men'.
Be grateful you're even alive today.
if it wasnt for them, they would be
no fantabulous Singapore,
they would be no real singaporeans.
there would be no you.
Bodies of thousands who died while fighting
were never found.
if only you'd seen those walls full of names,
names of those never found.
think about it.
dont say 'life sucks'
just cause you got upset
by something so trivial.
give it a chance.
they sacrificed to give us-
the free men a living.
they died for us.
so, its a sad story.
but you'll never get tired of it
cause you know you owe it all to them.
